Gemma is our general assistant, which means that she helps support the whole team, students, beneficiaries and staff. She came to Petit Miracles through a traineeship placement back in 2018, making her one of the longest serving team members here! She started off in the workshop and showed real passion and skill for everything upcycling. After her traineeship and volunteering, we invited her to join the staff team in 2021. She enjoys the variety of tasks she is responsible for, both in the workshop and in the shop, always going above and beyond. She always asks if anyone needs any help and does everything with a smile on her face. Meeting our new beneficiaries is one of her favorite things about working here, as she has completed her traineeship and can support them, explaining what they might experience and make new friends.
Kate is the Director at Petit Miracles. She has been with the organisation for over 8 years, starting as a retail apprentice in 2014. Before she started her newest role, she had worked in the workshop, supporting beneficiaries and learning new hands on skills and managed the retail shop, supporting customers to find their perfect piece of furniture. She has always been interested in furniture and loved being creative but never had the confidence to pursue it as a career. Once she saw the advert for the apprentice role back in 2015, the rest was history! Petit Miracles has always supported her and given her a chance to explore many roles, getting to know many aspects of the business, and herself. She enjoys spending time in the upholstery workshop, teaching people new skills about which she is passionate, and spending time with our volunteers and beneficiaries- everyone has something unique to share and offer our community and Kate loves to learn all about them!

After previously working at Petit Miracles for nine and a half years, I progressed from being a beneficiary to a volunteer, eventually becoming the organisation's first paid employee and, later, the Workshop Manager. I acquired skills in upcycling and managing trainees and volunteers, giving me valuable experience and a deep understanding of the core values
Having been a part of Petit Miracles' development, I possess a clear understanding of the services the organisation currently offers to its beneficiaries and the local community.
I have since moved on from Petit Miracles and am now employed by a local authority as a Senior Advisor in the Housing Options department. In my current role, I closely engage with vulnerable adults, assisting in preventing homelessness, finding suitable accommodation, and organising emergency accommodation when necessary.
Petit Miracles provided me with the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally, and I am eager to continue my involvement with the charity, supporting the charity that once supported me.
